Enterprise experience applied to clearer decisions, more reliable reporting, and better solution delivery.
Experience Behind the Practice
Dr. Shawn C. Brown helps organizations turn complex data, reporting, process, and technology challenges into clear, practical solutions. His approach is informed by more than two decades inside enterprise environments, where he has helped teams clarify requirements, improve reporting reliability, strengthen validation practices, and move solutions from concept through production.
That experience now supports a consulting practice focused on business analysis, reporting and data quality, BI delivery, testing and UAT, data governance, and team enablement. Dr. Brown works across business and technical teams to identify what is not working, define what needs to change, and provide guidance that organizations can realistically maintain.
His doctoral capstone research focused on human behavior and password security practices in healthcare environments. That work adds a research-informed view of how people, policies, and technology interact in healthcare settings.
His career spans complex environments in managed care, professional services, media and telecommunications, mortgage technology, and financial services. Working across these settings developed a practical perspective on how business priorities, people, data, and technology must come together for solutions to succeed.
Dr. Brown holds a Doctor of Information Technology from Capella University (conferred 2026), a Master of Business Administration from Strayer University, and a Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Old Westbury. He is certified in Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals, Azure Fundamentals, and Azure Data Fundamentals.

Dr. Brown's capstone examined how human behavior influences password-security practices in healthcare environments. The research considered cyber threats, passwordless authentication, two-factor and three-factor authentication, biometrics, breach costs, security awareness, and the risks associated with compromised information appearing on the dark web.
For clients, this research foundation supports clearer authentication decisions, stronger security-awareness initiatives, more effective policy communication, and a better understanding of how human behavior affects security adoption and organizational risk.
